My neighbor DMH, who has lived here for 9 years, says she never knew about it either.

Go mouse, go!

I was crossing the street at 5th and E 40th to go to the NY Public Library when I noticed the crowd walking really strangely and looking down at their feet. A cute little mouse was also trying to cross the street no one wanted to step on it or get near it. The mouse ran under a slowly-moving car trying to turn the corner. Everyone gasped, then sighed with relief as the mouse emerged unharmed. Then they all resumed trying to get away from it as it made its way onto the sidewalk.
