Suze Orman speaks at the 92nd Street Y

I saw the fantastic Suze Orman at the 92nd Street Y this evening. She was there to talk about the content of her 8th book, titled "Women and Money" (which I read last spring.) She listed her 8 qualities of wealthy women. I thought I would
share, because they make a lot of sense:

1 & 2. Harmony and balance: make sure your thoughts,
words and actions are ONE. What you think, you will
say. What you say, you will become. When you do this,
you are in harmony, and thus have balance,

3. Courage: fear keeps you from taking the actions you
know will help you achieve wealth.

4. Generosity. TRUE generosity is a gift to both the
recipient and the giver. i.e. going into debt to buy
an expensive birthday present is not true generosity

5. Happiness: This comes when you truly have the first
four qualities. You won't shop for things you don't
really want to find happiness.

6. Cleanliness: wealth cannot live in filth. Dwell in
cleanliness to attract wealth.

7. Beauty: defined as inner strength, from knowing
your own worth and power

8. Wisdom: when you make the right choices with
yourself, your finances and your loved ones.

Goodbye to Astroland

So today Astroland, the amusement park by Coney Island, has reportedly closed after 45 years. A new amusement park is supposed to spring up by next year, and will be year-round, to accommodate growing development down there.

Eek the Freak, who for 15 years has served as the target for paintball in the "Shoot the Freak" arcade on the boardwalk, is reportedly making a career change and going to law school at the age of 45. More power to him.

UGLY NY!

I just got signed today to an agency called Ugly NY. They specialize in those who are not 5 foot 9 and blonde, to say the least. I saw a clip on them on Fox News and sent them my photo, then they called me up for an appointment.

Check them out at www.uglyny.com

I like this guy

I saw this guy in Central Park today.

I often see this guy in various parts of NYC and for some reason I like him. He is an elderly Pakistani man, dressed in a traditional long white salwaar and hat. He rides what is clearly a girl's bike, which is a bit small for him and has long pink tassels from the handlebars.

But he doesn't care! In this city where everyone is sooooo concerned about dressing and looking exactly (boringly) alike (except for the East Village, where they appear to be trying to hard to be the punks who left with CBGB), he is just doing his thing. He rides his bike pretty fast too, and he just smiles at everyone, including the fashionista f****s who look at him all disdainfully. Like they could ever know that kind of freedom!

another magazine sighting (of me)

My Microsoft ad is on page 55 of the Sept 2007 issue of Men's Health magazine!

However, I will not be in the ads next year, as I went to the casting call last week and was not selected. Easy come, easy go!

so honest

I was in Strawberry Fields today, where I saw a cardboard sign on top of a suitcase. The sign said:

"Why lie? I need money for beer."

and in smaller print above it: "Donations for photos".

The guy to whom it belonged was nowhere to be seen. It seems you can telecommute to begging these days as well!
